How to send MMS messages with Notifyre

Notifyre offers Multi-Media Messaging Services (MMS), this allows you to send images along with text to your contacts. Whether you're running a marketing campaign or engaging with customers, Notifyre's MMS service transforms standard text messages into rich, impactful communications that drive better results.

MMS Requirements

You need an MMS capable number to send MMS messages.  Notifyre offers two types of numbers:

  • SMS & MMS
  • SMS only

Check your number type before sending MMS or follow this guide to order a SMS & MMS number.

If you try to send from an SMS number you will be prompted to change the number or order a MMS number.

How to send MMS via Notifyre's online platform:

  1. Login in the Notifyre Dashboard
  2. Select Send on the left navigation 
  3. Select SMS & MMS from the dropdown menu 
  4. From MMS Number: Use the drop down menu to select the MMS number. 
  5. In the To Number field: Enter the destination numbers, contact name or contact group name. Add the numbers by clicking or hit Enter or Tab on your keyboard.
  6. (Optional) Use a template to populate the message body automatically. Note that the media file will need to be added separately.
  7. (Optional) Add a subject line. Up to 20 characters. This appears in bold with your text message.

  8. Enter your message body. Use personalisation fields, emojis and unicode.
    1. United States MMS number: 1600 characters
    2. Australian MMS number: 1000 characters
  9. Attach your media file. Accepted file types include: PNG, JPG and GIF. Maximum media file size varies based on the send number region: 
    1. United States MMS number: 1mb
    2. Australian MMS number: 430kb
  10. (Optional) Add an unsubscribe link  
  11. (Optional) Schedule your message  
  12. Send your MMS message

Sending MMS with API 

Notifyre offers MMS sending directly through its API, allowing developers to easily integrate multimedia messaging into their applications. 

How to send MMS with API

1. Create your API token

2. Follow Notifyre's MMS API documentation or use MMS webhooks

3. Test your integration

💡The MMS API requires a media file to be included in the request. This means you must attach a valid media type (PNG, JPG and GIF) when sending an MMS message through the API. Without a media file, the request will not meet the MMS specification and will fail.
