Alphanumeric SMS Sender ID Registration Status
You can review the status of your alphanumeric SMS Sender ID at any time in your Notifyre account.
Region Applicable: Australia
To view the status:
- Login to your Notifyre secure web portal
- From the main navigation, open SMS
- Select SMS Sender IDs
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Unverified | The Sender ID has not yet been registered. Submit an application in Notifyre to begin ACMA registration. |
| In progress | The application has been submitted and is under review by Notifyre and/or ACMA. |
| Rejected | The Sender ID was not approved. Review the ACMA valid use case requirements and update your application. |
| Ready to use | The Sender ID has been approved by ACMA and can now be used to send SMS messages in Notifyre. |
| Revoked |
A previously approved Sender ID has been cancelled by your organisation, Notifyre, or ACMA. |
How long does approval take?
As part of the registration process, Notifyre reviews all Sender ID applications before submitting them to ACMA.
Once submitted, ACMA approval time (a few hours to several business days) can vary depending on volume and complexity.
⚠️ Longer processing times may occur closer to the 1 July 2026 compliance deadline. We recommend submitting your Sender ID applications as early as possible to avoid service disruption.
Valid use case
All alphanumeric SMS Sender IDs must clearly represent your organisation or brand and meet ACMA’s valid use case requirements. This helps recipients easily identify who the message is from and reduces impersonation risk. See the ACMA's Valid Use Case rules.
Formatting rules
Sender IDs must also meet ACMA formatting and validation requirements, including character limits and naming conventions. See the ACMA's Valid Use Case formatting rules.
Acceptable use
All account and service usage, including SMS Sender IDs, must comply with Notifyre’s Acceptable Use of Service Policy.
