# What happens to my fax number when I cancel my fax receive plan?

When you cancel your Fax Receive plan, your **fax number stays active** until the end of your **current billing cycle**. You can continue receiving faxes during this time. After the billing cycle ends, the fax number is cancelled and you will no longer be able to receive faxes. 

If you’d like to keep your fax number for future use, consider switching to a **lower volume fax plan** or contact Notifyre Support to explore retention options.
